2013 Hong Kong Good News stories about people helped by prayer
September: Staff member at a Hong Kong prison was facing a major operation. September: A local Chinese inmate at Lai Chi Kok Detention Centre, a tattooed member of a Triad society, had a large stye on his left eyelid. Doctor said he'd need an operation. Stye had been there 10 months. Man received copy of "Doctor Jesus", started reading it, and by page 3 noticed something good happening to the stye. He kept reading and praying and re-reading for about two weeks....and the stye went away. This man's spontaneous testimony to fellow Triad inmates caused a number of them to ask chaplain for copy of "Dr Jesus" and to ask prayers for all sorts of ailments: sore backs, headaches, sore limbs etc. One man also asked prayers for his mother who faces a back operation. These Triad inmates are no angels ...they are regarded by Detention Centre staff as A-grade tough and 100% bad
September: A Lai Chi Kok Chinese inmate, a local HK man, was in Queen Elizabeth Hospital for an operation on his right leg ....and was told he'd be unable to use the leg for two weeks and would need to stay in bed for two weeks. Then on morning of Aug 5 inmate received copy of Dr Jesus. He'd never prayed in his life, but that day he asked Jesus for help as he read the booklet. That afternoon pain started going. That night, all gone. Next day, new x-ray - all clear...unwelcome guests gone. Following day, returned to Lai Chi Kok ...where he now tells everyone how Jesus helped him ....and he's started putting his hand on head of anyone with a health problem ...and asking Jesus to help them!
